OUR STORY
STEAM VALLEY BIBLE CHURCH HAS BEEN PART OF THE TROUT RUN COMMUNITY FOR MANY YEARS. WE ARE A SMALL, COMMITTED CONGRETATION SEEKING TO FAITHFULLY FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST, TEACH GOD'S WORD, AND LIVE IT OUT IN EVERYDAY LIFE.
WE VALUE BIBICAL TEACHING, PRAYER, FELLOWSHIP, AND SERVING OTHERS. OUR DESIRE IS TO BE A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE CAN GROW IN THEIR FAITH, BUILD MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS, AND FIND ENCOURAGEMENT FOR DAILY LIFE.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
OUR BELIEFS ARE GROUNDED IN THE BIBLE AS THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD.

The Bible is the inspired and inherent Word of God and our final authority for faith and life.

God is the one true God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of the virgin Mary. Jesus died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and now reigns in heaven.

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.

The Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers for godly living and service.

Humanity was created in God’s image but fell into sin and is in need of redemption through Christ.

Christ is the head of the church, His body. The church is called to submit to Christ, worship God , teach Scripture, love one another, and proclaim the Gospel.

Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to establish His earthly kingdom and complete God’s plan for history.

Eternal destiny includes the resurrection of all people – believers to eternal life with God and unbelievers to eternal punishment.
LEADERSHIP
Pastor
Tim Feldman
Pastor Tim began serving at Steam Valley Bible Church in January 2026. He grew up in a Christian home in southeast Pennsylvania and trusted Christ as his Savior at a young age. Through the encouragement and opportunities provided by his home church, he sensed God’s call to ministry during his high school years.
After meeting his wife Ruth at Northland Baptist Bible College, Pastor Tim served in churches in Utah and Nevada from 2010–2025. In 2025, as they prayed about returning to Pennsylvania, the Lord clearly guided them to Steam Valley Bible Church, for which they are deeply thankful.
Pastor Tim finds great joy in seeing people come to know Christ and grow in their love for the Lord and His Word. He has a heart for helping believers grow together in unity and live faithfully for Christ throughout their lives.
Outside of ministry, Pastor Tim enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors hunting, camping, and fishing, and cheering for Pennsylvania sports teams like the Phillies and Eagles—along with enjoying classic Pennsylvania foods.

Associate Pastor
Tom MacAvoy
Pastor Tom MacAvoy has served at Steam Valley Bible Church since 2006 and is now in his 20th year of ministry with the church. Although he began his career in the business world, the Lord called him into full-time ministry in 1988, leading him and his wife Wanda to Greenville, South Carolina, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies from Bob Jones University.
Following his training, Pastor Tom served faithfully in several churches, including over ten years as pastor in Noxen, Pennsylvania. He later served as an assistant pastor and school administrator in Damascus, PA, and as an assistant pastor in Glen Allen, Virginia, before the Lord clearly led his family to Steam Valley Bible Church.
Pastor Tom and Wanda are thankful for God’s work in their family. They have three grown children who love the Lord and are serving Him, along with fifteen grandchildren. Their greatest joy is seeing their family walk in truth and faithfulness to Christ.
Outside of ministry, the MacAvoys enjoy spending time with family, music, biking, gardening, hosting guests at their Airbnb, and teaching at Williamsport Christian School. Pastor Tom desires to serve the church faithfully through God’s Word and the strength the Lord provides.
